Films at The Bridge 2026
Films start at 7pm and are generally shown on the second Friday in the month. In the first half of 2026 we have two films with great music, a romantic comedy, a biographical drama and a sci-fi adventure. Hopefully something for everyone.
9 January. West Side Story.
The 1961 and best version of the Leonard Bernstein musical based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The film stars Natalie Wood, Rita Moreno and won ten academy awards.
13 February. Capote.
The American writer, Truman Capote wrote In Cold Blood and Breakfast at Tiffany’s amongst other things and this is the biographical drama about his life. Philip Seymour Hoffman plays the lead role.
13 March. Salmon Fishing in the Yeman.
Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Kirsten Scott-Thomas head up a very good cast in a different sort of setting. This is the romantic comedy.
10 April. Bohemian Rhapsody. I
f you like the music of Queen, this is the film for you. Rami Malek plays Freddie Mercury and the film is about Freddie’s life and his time in Queen.
8 May. Gravity.
The director Alfonso Cuaron won the best director Oscar for this film about astronauts, played by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, with serious problems to overcome in outer space.
